(Creative Consultant) ANN BOWEN has directed numerous plays for Michael Horn and The Michael
Chekhov Theatre Company. Among the highlights of the ongoing Sam
Shepard Festival were her revivals of Simpatico, Geography of a Horse
Dreamer, and True West. For MCTC, Ann has also directed Bertold
Brecht’s Good Woman of Setzuan, David Mamet’s Goldberg Street, John
Patrick Shanley’s The Dreamer Examines His Pillow and Welcome to the
Moon, Chris Pray’s The Last Temptation of Tony, and two by David Kosh:
I Love New York (What’s Your Excuse?) and The Show Might Go On. On
the West Coast, she has directed works by Fugard, Pinter, Shanley,
Mamet and Shaw at such theatres as Berkeley Repertory, LATC, Matrix,
Odyssey, Second City and the Mark Taper Forum. Ms. Bowen is Founding
Director of the Thetare Gym and a member of SSDC. |
