Steve Abbruscato
 
Steve recently wrote and performed in Memorias, a one man-show developed in workshops at the Michael Chekhov Theatre Company. As a busy memeber of MCTC, he was seen in Sam Shepard’s States of Shock (as the Colonel), in Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads (as Graham), in Lysistrata (chorus head), and as a food obsessive in David Mamet’s Goldberg Street . Other extensive work Off-Off B’way includes: Of Mice and Men (in the role of Candy), Thomas Kyd’s The Spanish Tragedy (Hieronimo), Shaw’s The Philanderer (Lord Cuthbertson), Major Barbara (Andrew Undershaft), Misalliance (Lord Summerhays), Arms and the Man (Nicola), Euripides’ Alcestis (Pheres/Zeus), Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex (Tieresias), Twelfth Night (Sir Andrew Aguecheek), Julius Caesar (Caesar), Two Gentlemen of Verona (Launce), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Egeus), The Counrty Wife (Sir Jaspar Fidgit), A Yorkshire Tragedy (Master of the University), Chekhov’s The Wedding (Zhigalov), The Cherry Orchard (Lopakhin), Waiting for Lefty (Joe), The Skin of Our Teeth (Mr. Antrobus), Gorki’s The Lower Depths (Kleshch), Feydeau’s A Flea in Her Ear (Rugby), Andreyev’s He Who Gets Slapped (Baron Reynard), Alfred deMusett’s You Can’t Trifle with Love (The Baron), Brecht’s In the Jungle of Cities (John Garga), Trial of the Catonsville Nine (John Melville), John Ashbery’s The Heroes (Theseus), Peter Weiss’ The Investigation, Sartre’s Nekrassov, Harold Pinter’s Night, Agatha Christie’s Toward Zero and Murder on the Nile. On TV, he appeared in the soap opera Loving. Steve is a founding memeber of the Theatre Gym.
